The heat's just been turned up among the manufacturers of mini ATVs – as if the competition is not already rife enough as it is! For this year alone, consumers of mini ATVs are truly spoiled for choice and yet, there are two more amazingly cool Mini ATVs introduced into the market. Kawasaki introduces their KFX 50 and KFX 90. The Kawasaki mini ATV KFX 50 is designed for kids 5 years and up while the Kawasaki mini ATV KFX 90 is designed for kids 12 years and up.

Both the Kawasaki KFX 50 and KFX 90 look pretty much the same in the beginning. We didn't see much difference in both machines. Although the differences are subtle, it doesn't make much difference to the rider anyway, so, we went on to have a closer look at the Kawasaki KFX 50 and KFX 90. One of the main differences between the 2 mini ATVs is the rear grab bar. As you would expect, the smaller sibling ( KFX 50)'s grab bar has a kill tether there. The kill tether is sort of like a switch that a parent can hold on to while their kids' are on the mini ATV and if there's trouble, they can just give it a yank and the engine of the mini ATV goes dead. The KFX 90 doesn't have this feature…it would pretty uncool for a 12 year old to ride a mini ATV that's got a kill tether to it, come to think of it. But really, if parents had it their way, there should be a remote control that helps kill the engine to ALL machines.

Anyway, the Kawasaki KFX 50 and KFX 90 come with many safety features and conventional stuff as well, like the electric starting, A-arms, single hydraulic rear disc brakes…etc. but what we loved was the speed limiter. On top of all the other safety features on these two mini ATVs, there's another one that parents will love. Kids can't just start the engines of their mini ATVs themselves – that's because to start the mini ATVs, you'll need a key. Needless to say but the parents get to keep the keys!

These Kawasaki mini ATVs are certainly the quads of any kids' dreams. While the Kawasaki KFX 90 has a speed limiter, it comes with a bigger engine allowing for more speed. PLUS the have bigger and better tires for aspiring ATV riders to test their skills on.
